FARGO, N.D. - Senator John Hoeven today marked the grand opening of the Milton Earl Apartments, a $14 million, 42-unit affordable housing complex in Fargo that will serve tenants age 62 and older to improve their long-term housing stability. The project is made possible through a public-private partnership leveraging more than $5.4 million in federal funding from programs Hoeven has worked to secure as a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Committee. Hoeven's support for these programs helped the project to secure nearly $9 million in private investment. Specifically, the project's federal funding sources include:
"The Milton Earl project is a prime example of public and private entities working in tandem, while leveraging federal housing programs, to provide the affordable housing we need across North Dakota. These efforts result in updated, high-quality apartments that have access to the types of amenities that any tenant would value. Moreover, such projects support a higher quality of life for our residents while helping to ensure there is enough available housing stock to support our dynamic, growing economy. Those are wins across the board," said Hoeven.
Milton Earl's amenities include covered parking, a secure entrance, on site property management, an elevator, community room with kitchen, exercise room, craft room, library/media, lounge and roof-top patio. The site is located within walking distance to shopping, church, restaurants, banking, park, retail and a health clinic.
