Spokane Police investigating overnight shooting that left one person deceased

Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:12 p.m.

On June 25th, 2024 just before midnight, SPD responded to the area of 200 E Wedgewood Avenue on a report of a shooting. A deceased male was discovered in a walkway area. Detectives with SPD's Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded to the location to assist with the investigation. Preliminary information indicated a group of people became involved in an altercation just prior to the shooting. It is believed the involved parties knew each other. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner at a later time.
