Rawlins Library: August Programming

Storytime returns in August, but you'll only find it in the parks. Plus, the summer reading adventure continues. Find more details about these activities and other programming at Rawlins Library this August below.

SUMMER READING CONCLUSION: PIZZA, BOOKS AND A GRAND PRIZE

Kids turn in your summer reading logs between Thursday Aug. 1 and Saturday, Aug. 3 to receive a free book and coupon for a free Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut while supplies last. Kids who return logs by Aug. 3 will also be entered to win a grand prize.

SUMMER READING ADVENTURE: TWEENS & TEENS

Aug. 5 - Aug. 8, 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

This program designed specifically for middle and high school aged kids will feature art projects, reading, and a look at the new selection of teen books. Details and registration are available at CityofPierre.org via the Summer Recreation program.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY SCAMMERS

Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 12 p.m.

Jody Gillaspie, Director of the Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection, will discuss the steps you need to protect yourself from being scammed and share how her office can help. Registration requested by calling 605.773.7421 or online at rawlinslibrary.org.

ADULT BOOK CLUB (TUESDAYS)

Aug. 6, 13, 20, & 27 at 6 p.m.

In August, the club will read The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman. To reserve a book or join the club, email [email protected], call 605.773.7421, or sign up in person. Water and coffee are provided. Participants must be 18 or older.

Weather permitting, join Rawlins Library staff for songs and storytelling at Fischer Lily Park in Ft. Pierre. The program is free and open to kids of all ages.

FOR THE THRILL OF IT BOOK CLUB

Sunday, Aug. 18 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The For the Thrill of It book club will read Follow Me Down by Sheri Smith. Register for this thriller genre-reading book club by visiting the front desk at the library or calling 605.773.7421. Must be 18 or older.
