Forestry Issues DRAFT 2024 Fairbanks Vicinity Timber Sale Decision Documents
The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection (DOF) is currently seeking public feedback on three Preliminary Best Interest Findings (PBIFs) and five Forest Land Use Plans (FLUPs) for areas within the Fairbanks-Delta region. To aid in the thorough review of each location, detailed maps accompany these draft documents, available electronically at https://forestry.alaska.gov/timber/fairbanks.
The DOF invites public comments during a 30-day period on these eight decision documents, prepared in accordance with AS 38.05.035(e) and AS 38.05.112. The proposed plans intend to move forward with commercial sawtimber and fuelwood contracts within the identified areas.
