President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony held at Anıtkabir (Atatürk's mausoleum) on the August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

After President Erdoğan laid a wreath at the mausoleum, a minute of silence was observed and the Turkish National Anthem, the Independence March, was sung.

Proceeding to the Misak-ı Milli Tower, President Erdoğan wrote in the Anıtkabir memorial book the following:

"August Atatürk, we are today celebrating with joy and pride the 102^nd anniversary of the Great Victory, which consolidated our existence in Anatolia, our eternal homeland, and secured our independence as a nation.

With this victory, which we won despite all kinds of deprivations, we not only added yet another ring to the chain of victories in our glorious history but also threw wide open the path leading to the proclamation of the Republic. We are progressing step by step towards our goal of elevating the Republic of Türkiye, the product of a great dedication, unwavering faith and uphill struggle, above the level of contemporary civilizations. We will continue our efforts with determination until we realize our vision of the Century of Türkiye, which has transformed into our nation's Kızılelma.

On this day of pride, we once again remember with mercy Your Excellency, your comrades-in-arms, and our revered martyrs who fell to the ground as if entering a garden of roses. Rest in peace."
