The National Wages Council Convenes to Develop Annual Guidelines

  1. The National Wages Council (NWC), a tripartite body comprising employer, employee and government representatives1, will convene on 29 August 2024 to develop its annual guidelines (covering 1 December 2024 - 30 November 2025) on wage and employment-related issues.

  2. In its deliberations, the NWC will take into account Singapore's economic competitiveness, labour market conditions, inflation, productivity growth, as well as the global economic outlook. The NWC will also continue to set out its annual guidance on the range of Progressive Wage growth for lower-wage workers. The NWC aims to release its guidelines by November.

  3. Members of the public are also welcome to share their views on wage-related issues, and their suggestions on the upcoming guidelines. They can submit their feedback to the NWC Secretariat at https://go.gov.sg/nwc-feedback-2024by 1 September 2024.
