A delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Kuwait

On August 12-14, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited Kuwait. During the visit, a number of bilateral negotiations, meetings with leading businessmen, Uzbekistan-Kuwait business forum and an exhibition of Made in Uzbekistan products were organized.

The delegation of our country was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya at the Kuwait International Airport. Facilitating economic relations, increasing connectivity between our regions, boosting exchanges, creating strong legal foundation, enhancing people-to-people ties, strengthening capacity building were central topics of meetings between the foreign ministers. At the end of the meeting, ministers signed the Memorandum of understanding between the Foreign Ministries on the Cooperation of Diplomatic Institutes.

During the visit, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev to H.H. Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

During the meetings with the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investments Dr. Anwar A. Al-Mudhaf, Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Authority Ghanem Suleiman Al-Ghenaiman, General Director of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Waleed S. Al-Bahar, a number of issues of economic cooperation and realization of mutually beneficial joint projects were discussed.

The Uzbekistan-Kuwait business forum was held together with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. More than 200 representatives from the two countries took part in it. In his speech at the opening ceremony of the event, the foreign minister noted that "Uzbekistan's gates are wide open for foreign companies to explore promising opportunities created by the large-scale economic reforms, stand ready to facilitate any win-win partnership between business communities of our two countries". At the exhibition Made in Uzbekistan organized within the framework of this forum, great interest was shown in the products produced in our country.

In addition, during the visit, representatives of the delegation held talks with the heads of a number of companies and agreed to implement mutually beneficial projects with Kuwaiti partners in many directions, increase the volume of trade, and expand the scope of investments.
