Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested Following an Armed Robbery Incident in Roxbury

Investigation Update: At about 12:15 PM, on Friday, September 27, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, and officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) and E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested Jonathan Lopez, 27, of Jamaica Plain, in the area of 195 Heath Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court for Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery with a Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 9:42 PM, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 5 Greenheys Street for a report of an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the victim was approached by a group of males and one displayed a firearm. The suspects stole the victim's fanny pack, phone, and watch before fleeing the area.
