On 19 November 2024, DG CONNECT hosted the ninth meeting of the European Board for Digital Services in Brussels.
During this meeting, Digital Services Coordinators (DSCs) and observers attended a keynote speech by Julie Grant, the Australian eSafety Commissioner, and exchanged views.
After the keynote, Board members and observers exchanged information on the latest developments on designation and empowerment of DSCs, ongoing activities and investigations. The Commission also updated the Board on the latest developments and enforcement activities on its side, including the recently adopted Implementing Regulation on transparency reporting. The Board also discussed the latest activities of its Working Groups.
Moreover, the Commission presented the latest update on its work on an age verification application, as well as the conversion of the Code of Conduct on Hate Speech and the Code of Practice on Disinformation.
Finally, the Commission informed the Board on the latest developments regarding the draft Delegated Regulation on a methodology for calculating the number of average monthly recipients.
The next Board meeting will take place online on 12 December.
