As we head into the end of the semester, the stress on students can become even more intense and challenging. This is a great time to remember the many resources and support that are available to all students.
Thanks to the generous support of a grant from the state of New Jersey, Seton Hall sponsors numerous mental-health and wellbeing programs through the Great Minds Dare to Care initiative. Through this program all students have access to a free subscription to Headspace, a popular app that provides meditation and mindfulness to help lower stress levels and improve focus. Just visit the Great Minds Dare to Care website to get started.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers many self-help resources to students including guided meditations available in both English and Spanish. There is also a list of "quick tips," links to recommended videos and apps and more. Students also have access to the wellness room in Walsh Library, if they need to be calm and unplug for a bit.
Students needing more than self-care are encouraged to call CAPS for an appointment (973-761-9500). Uwill is also available to all students for teletherapy services. Also, students with an urgent need to speak with a counselor may choose to call University 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Hotline at 973-275-HELP (4357). This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The first step in feeling better is to reach out and explore the resources that are available to all students at no cost.
