Wall charts were introduced for educational purposes at the end of 19th century and have been mainly used in the Universities for teaching Medical and Veterinary Sciences, where they represented fundamental visual supports, forerunners of contemporary multimedia ones.

Wall charts were a very common communication tool, which allowed teachers to illustrate their researches in the classroom.
The University of Turin preserves several collections of wall charts regarding different scientific fields; some were drawn by eminent scientists, as Giulio Bizzozero, the discoverer of blood platelets.
Wall charts depict the structures of the organism in a worthy combination of art and science and constitute a precious historical-scientific heritage, little known and to be valorized.

You can follow the meeting either in person or by streaming online.
