Residential Garbage Collection to Resume Thursday, October 3rd

The City of Valdosta's Public Works Sanitation Division will resume regular residential garbage collection services on Thursday, October 3rd, beginning with the Thursday sanitation route. The normal Monday-Friday schedule will follow from there.

Sanitation crews will only collect green roll out cans that are accessible. If an area is deemed impassable or dangerous, collection services will not be provided for that location. Residents are asked to place their green roll out cans by the curb and to ensure that only household trash is placed inside. Bulk items and yard debris should not be mixed with household garbage.

Should any changes occur to the sanitation schedule, residents will be notified promptly.

Additionally, sway cars will be stationed at five designated drop-off locations from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM for household waste disposal:

  • Old Ferrell Gas Company - 708 Barack Obama Blvd
  • Valdosta Cinemas - 1680 Baytree Road
  • Old Recycle Drop Site - 1025 West Hill Ave (at Hill Ave and Cherry St)
  • Payton Park - Intersection of Griffin Ave and Devine St
  • Skate and Play Family Fun Center - 3124 N Oak Street Extension

The City of Valdosta appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during this time.
