Call for Artists: Big Belly Trash Can Art Project

The City of Santa Rosa is calling all artists in Sonoma County to submit artwork for a public art project that will transform everyday trash cans into colorful works of art. This unique initiative invites artists of all ages and skill levels to submit proposals for temporary artwork to be displayed on Big Belly Trash Cans in the vibrant Roseland Community along Sebastopol Avenue. The project aims to infuse creativity and color into everyday urban elements, celebrating the City's diversity while promoting environmental stewardship.

Applications open on Nov. 13, 2024, and will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. PST on Jan. 15, 2025.

Whether you're an emerging artist or an established professional, this Call for Art is an opportunity to showcase your talent and connect with the community. Artists working in any visual medium-such as painting, photography, illustration, graphic design, or other forms of creative expression-are invited to participate. Both individual artists and artist teams are welcome to submit their designs, bringing a wide range of ideas and perspectives to this exciting project.
