Taking the Oath of Office

[Link]Council Member John Meredith took the oath of office on Nov. 4 to begin his second term as the D5 Council representative. Madison County Probate Judge Frank Barger administered the oath.

Speaking to a jam-packed Council Chamber audience, Meredith recounted D5 milestones such as a new fire station, the improved intersection at Balch and Capshaw roads and funding for the Lydia Drive effort to be included in the National Register of Historic Places, among others.

He also thanked his wife, Tina, for her support and the backing of his campaign team. "But mostly, I am thankful for all those who cast a vote for me to serve another four years as the District 5 City Councilman."
