Columbia, S.C. (November 12, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will permanently close the westbound I-26 off-ramp to Bush River Road overnight Tuesday, November 12. Access to Bush River Road from westbound I-26 will be via the expanded Colonial Life Boulevard and I-126 Interchange.
This is the third and final step to permanently change the traffic pattern on Bush River Road to allow for future improvements to the I-26/I-20/I-126 interchange. This is a significant milestone for the Carolina Crossroads Project.
Exiting to Bush River Road from I-26 westbound
Drivers traveling from I-26 westbound to Bush River Road will use the new Colonial Life Boulevard exit from the right lane on I-126 westbound just past St. Andrews Road.
This permanent traffic change will significantly affect how drivers navigate the area. Drivers are advised to use caution and follow all traffic signage as SCDOT continues to enhance the safety and accessibility of the Carolina Crossroads corridor.
