Lauretta Lands Grand at the International Milking Shorthorn Show

MADISON, WIS. - Gin-Val Logic Lauretta-EXP claimed Grand and Senior Champion of the International Milking Shorthorn Show on Tuesday, October 1. The winning Aged Cow is owned by Cory and Kristen Salzl of Lichfield, Minn. Lauretta received the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy and the $1000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Award. Heavenly Zora-ET, owned by Dillon Freeman of Bremen, Ind., followed as Reserve Grand and Reserve Senior Champion.

The winning Senior Three-Year-Old, Henkeseen Petr Shots-EXP-ET owned by Matt Henkes, Susan Lee, Michelle Upchurch and Mike Gregory of Hebron, Ill., was tapped for Intermediate Champion, while the winning Junior Two-Year-Old, Pine-Star LM Jitterbug-EXP, owned by Corstar Farm; Cory and Kristen Salzl, and Leah, Jason, and Jessica James of Litchfield, Minn., received the handshake for Reserve Intermediate Champion.

The winning Fall Heifer Calf, Lazy M Money Laundering-ET-P, took home honors of Junior Champion for Triple S Genetics and Fairholm of Anamosa, Iowa. Reserve Junior Champion was the winning Summer Yearling Heifer, Corstar Mm Rasta-ET, owned by Riley Bohrer of Walkersville, Md.

Premier Breeder of the International Milking Shorthorn Show was Hard Core Farm of New Enterprise, Pa. Maunesha Creek Farm, of Sun Prairie, Wis., won the Premier Breeder of the Heifer Show. Peter Vail, Mile High, of Valatie, N.Y., claimed Premier Exhibitor of the Cow and Heifer Show. Innisfail Mega Lottery-ET was Premier Sire, while Halpins Muddy Rockstar-TW was Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.

Official judge, Chris Lahmers, from Marysville, Ohio, and associate judge, Mike Maier, of Stitzer, Wis., evaluated 262 Milking Shorthorn entries.
