Lane Restrictions Remain 24 Hours/Day For Median Island Work

Vegas Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction between Durango Drive and Rainbow Boulevard Thursday, Oct. 31 through Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, for median island installation. Work activities will take approximately 10 hours each day, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, but lane restrictions will remain in place until the project is completed.

Motorists should expect delays. Alta Drive or Lake Mead Boulevard are recommended as alternate routes for east- and westbound traffic.

Preliminary work was completed, consisting of improvements to the sidewalk areas to meet federal requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act, including the reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, curb and gutter, as well as repaving, installation of traffic signal loop detectors, raising of utilities and the installation of delineation.

Las Vegas Paving is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the work is $2.9 million, provided by the Federal Highway Administration and matched with Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax funds. Those with concerns during the work may call 702.353.4294.
