🚨RATINGS CHANGE🚨: Cook Political Report Shifts IA-01 To Toss Up

Cook Political Report : "Even several Republicans admit that Bohannan is a more natural communicator on TV than Miller-Meeks - and that there's a reason it took Miller-Meeks four tries to get to Congress in the first place."

Today, the non-partisan election forecaster Cook Political Report moved Iowa's 1st Congressional District to a "Toss Up."

Cook Political Report: "Bohannan…has run an effective campaign, taking advantage of Miller-Meeks' vulnerabilities on her right and her left. The congresswoman won her June primary by just 12 points against underfunded challenger David Pautsch…while Bohannan stockpiled funds and went up on TV in early August."

Recent polling shows Christina Bohannan leading Mariannette Miller-Meeks by three points. Christina also overtook Miller-Meeks in cash on hand last quarter after outraising the incumbent every single quarter she's been in the race.

Miller-Meeks - who won by just six votes in 2020 - is uniquely vulnerable after putting herself and her special interest donors ahead of Iowans. Miller-Meeks laid the groundwork for Iowa's near-total abortion ban and then co-sponsored a total national abortion ban with no exceptions. She also took nearly $200,000 from the drug industry while voting against lowering the cost of prescription drugs for Iowans.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Mariannette Miller-Meeks' days in Congress are numbered after she's proven time and time again that she's only looking out for herself and her special interest donors. Iowans know Christina Bohannan will put them first, which is why they will elect her in November."
