State Police Investigating a Murder-Suicide in the town of Perth

On Monday, September 16, 2024, at 8:24 a.m., State Police in Mayfield responded to 245 Voorhees Road in the town of Perth for a 911 call of shots fired outside the residence. When Troopers arrived at the residence, they subsequently checked the property and discovered the bodies of two individuals, Guy E. Lawrence, age 75, and Barbara J. Lawrence, age 76, deceased in the backyard. A handgun was found near the body of Mr. Lawrence.

The preliminary investigation has determined that both individuals were deceased from a gunshot wound and the scene was consistent with a murder-suicide.

The investigation is continuing.
