City of Clarksville to open new Downtown Parking Garage

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - With construction completed, the City of Clarksville is pleased to announce that the Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting for the new, 587-vehicle space Downtown Clarksville Parking Garage will soon be observed.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and the Clarksville Parking Commission chaired by Andy Kean are leading the event.

The new City Parking Garage is a key anchor of Historic Downtown Clarksville redevelopment, as the City anticipates a new Clarksville Performing Arts Center on Franklin Street, and accommodates greater traffic volume and commerce in the City's Central Business Improvement District.

Here are specifics about the upcoming event:

WHAT: All regional news organizations and the general public are invited to the City of Clarksville Downtown Parking Garage Grand Opening.

WHEN: Monday, November 18, 2024, beginning at 9 a.m.

WHERE: At the new Parking Garage, 131 South First Street; Clarksville, Tennessee

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS : Parking inside the new, eight-story Parking Garage will become available after the conclusion of the Grand Opening event.

The new garage may be entered from Commerce Street, First Street, or through the Cumberland Parking Garage on the Second Street level.

A pedestrian bridge connects the new garage to Franklin Street at the Roxy Theatre.

Please note that the lower level of the new garage will be permanently reserved for Public Safety vehicles, and will be labeled, "Emergency Vehicles Only."

Further, Spring Alley running adjacent to the new garage, which has been closed through the construction period, will be accessible as of November 18.
