New Hampshire Delegation Applauds $44 Million Award for ReGen Valley Tech Hub

(Manchester, NH) - Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), chair of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that funds the Department of Commerce, and Maggie Hassan (D-NH), alongside Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01), applauded $44 million in federal funding awarded to the ReGen Valley Tech Hub through the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act that Senators Shaheen and Hassan developed and helped get signed into law. The ReGen Valley Consortium, led by Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI), was designated as a Tech Hub by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) in 2023. The funding award will help accelerate Southern New Hampshire's growth into a global epicenter for the production and distribution of regenerative cells, tissues and organs and help further bolster the nation's economic and national security.

Shaheen and Pappas joined U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves in Manchester for the announcement. Earlier in the day, Shaheen joined Deputy Secretary Graves, leadership from ARMI and members of the ReGen Valley Consortium for a trolley tour. Photos from both events can be found here.

As Chair of the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee, Shaheen leads efforts to promote American innovation and accelerate long-term sustainable economic growth. Last year, Shaheen, Hassan and Pappas visited ARMI to celebrate the ReGen Valley Consortium's Tech Hub designation, and prior to that, Shaheen and Hassan hosted Commerce Secretary Raimondo at ARMI following EDA's selection of Southern New Hampshire's BioFabrication Cluster as a Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBBRC) awardee. This separate $44 million award - which Senators Shaheen and Hassan also advocated for - is being used as a down payment to establish Southern New Hampshire's leading role in regenerative tissue and organ production.
