Joe Pool Lake Operations Resume

Published on August 21, 2024

The City of Grand Prairie has announced that operations at Joe Pool Lake will resume today, August 21, 2024, following confirmation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) that environmental standards have been met.

As a result, all areas of Lynn Creek Park, Britton Park, and Loyd Park will reopen at 12:00 p.m.

However, ongoing cleanup efforts necessitate the temporary closure of the Loyd Park boat ramp, pending further testing scheduled for this Friday, August 23, 2024.

Lynn Creek Marina is now fully operational.

The sewer pipeline rupture near 6321 Mirabella Boulevard that occurred on August 16, 2024 led to precautionary park closures. The Trinity River Authority (TRA) has confirmed that the spill was contained and posed no threat to public drinking water supplies.
