Joint Brazil-Venezuela Statement on the Custody of Diplomatic Missions

Taking into account the principles and purposes of cooperation and mutual respect that govern the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil announce that they have reached an agreement for the custody of the premises of the Diplomatic Missions of the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Peru, including their properties and archives, as well as the representation of their interests and nationals in Venezuelan territory, to be assumed, as of August 5, 2024, by the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Caracas, in accordance with the terms of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963.
