EnerSys® to Showcase Advanced Battery Management at 2024 North American ISSA Show

READING, PENNSYLVANIA, November 18, 2024 - EnerSys (NYSE:ENS), the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, will showcase its premium portfolio of floor care power solutions in booth 3064 at ISSA Show North America 2024, including the company's recently launched iQ Mini™ battery monitoring device, along with their maintenance-free NexSys® TPPL (Thin Plate Pure Lead) batteries. Proven to maximize uptime while eliminating maintenance, NexSys® TPPL batteries surpass conventional battery technologies - delivering increased energy efficiency, longer service life and faster recharge rates within a non-spill design. To help efficiently manage floor care equipment, the company's new iQ Mini™ battery monitoring device helps prevent expensive repairs - providing floor care operators intuitive color status indicators on the battery units, while also capturing real-time battery data and turning it into actionable intelligence via an easily-accessible online portal for operations management.

"Floor care equipment is essential for keeping schools, hospitals and other facilities clean and hygienic for everyone," said Alex Capellini, Director of Product Management for Electronics and Accessories, Motive Power at EnerSys. "With its compact size, simple status indicators and robust data capabilities, the new iQ Mini™ battery monitoring device is perfect for managing floor care machines equipped with our maintenance-free NexSys® TPPL batteries. Combining these two technologies enables floor care operations to maximize productivity and safety while minimizing downtime and ownership costs."

Manufactured with proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, maintenance-free EnerSys® NexSys® TPPL batteries deliver up to twice the cycle life versus both gel and traditional "wet" batteries. Ideal for opportunity-charging and capable of fully charging within two hours, they offer the flexibility to charge between shifts and are so efficient that they can reduce recharge time by up to 50% versus gel batteries and cut electricity consumption per charge up to 17.3% compared to traditional lead acid batteries. Adding to their sustainability, NexSys® TPPL batteries are also highly recyclable and eliminate water consumption normally associated with maintaining traditional "wet" flooded lead acid batteries.

Additional features and benefits of maintenance-free NexSys® TPPL batteries include:

  • No watering or long equalization charges
  • Excellent service life - up to 1,500 cycles
  • Long shelf life - up to two years at 68°F (20°C)
  • Daily energy throughput of up to 160% - minimizing unproductive downtime
  • Extreme shock and vibration resistance
  • Minimal off-gassing with a no-spill design - ideal for sensitive areas
  • No overheating due to very low internal resistance during charging

Compatible with TPPL, flooded and VRLA batteries, the new EnerSys® iQ Mini™ monitoring device delivers big capabilities in a small, intelligent unit with battery data instantaneously uploaded and accessible via an online portal - providing floor care managers with more control over their productivity and bottom line.

This year's ISSA show will take place between November 19th to 21st at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
