The Fargo Police Department (FPD) is competing against the West Fargo Police Department, the Cass County Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement agencies in the annual Golden Drive Sock Drive to help collect warm socks for area homeless kids. Individuals have until Friday, October 4, to donate socks in support of their favorite law enforcement agency. Socks must be new, and all sizes are accepted.

As part of this friendly competition, The Fargo Police Department has a sock donation box available in the main lobby of FPD Headquarters at 105 25th St. N. The lobby is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Additional sock donation sites can be found on the Golden Drive Homeless Kids Facebook page.

The sock drive is organized by Golden Drive Homeless Kids, a nonprofit organization with the mission of raising awareness about homelessness faced by children in Fargo and surrounding communities. Last year's sock drive collected more than 24,000 pairs of socks.
