Blackburn Statement on Instagram Child Safety Changes Ahead of House KOSA Markup

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) released the following statement following Instagram's announcementof new child safety changes ahead of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's markupof the Kids Online Safety Act.

"If anyone needed further proof that Big Tech has no interest in actually protecting our children, the timing of Instagram's announcement on the eve of a House markup of the Kids Online Safety Act is it. Just like clockwork, the Kids Online Safety Act moves forward and industry comes out with a new set of self-enforcing guidelines. We applaud Chairwoman McMorris-Rogers for moving forward with the Kids Online Safety Act and thank her and her staff for their hard work on this legislation, along with Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.), Kathy Castor (D-Fla.) and Erin Houchin (R-Ind.)." - Senator Blackburn
