BOB DUFF PROVES TO BE THE MOST INDECENT POLITICIAN IN CONNECTICUT

ATTACKS TRUMP BY MINIMIZING THE HORRORS OF THE HOLOCAUST AND OPENING JEWISH WOUNDS

MIDDLETOWN - The Connecticut Republican Party, led by Chairman Ben Proto, demands an immediate apology from State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) and calls on Connecticut Democrats to denounce the abhorrent comparison made in a recent video posted by Duff. The video equates former President Donald Trump to Hitler-a comparison that is not only deeply offensive but also trivializes the atrocities of the Holocaust and the suffering of its victims. This rhetoric dangerously distorts history and insults the memory of those who perished under the Nazi regime.

"In one of the most dishonest and disturbing political videos to date, Bob Duff blatantly and erroneously equates President Donald Trump to Hitler," said Proto. "This video doesn't just distort history; it shamelessly exploits the horrors of the Holocaust and desecrates the memory of its victims. By using such appalling imagery, Duff sends a message of intimidation to millions of Jewish Americans, effectively weaponizing their history and trauma for political gain. This rhetoric crosses every line of decency and respect."

"This video is part of a disturbing trend in our political discourse, one that has escalated to the point where people have attempted to assassinate President Trump," Proto continued. "When a member of my party compared Governor Lamont to Hitler in 2021, I condemned it immediately and unequivocally because this type of rhetoric is dangerous-it fuels division and incites violence. Yet, Connecticut Democratic leaders remain silent in the face of similar recklessness. We need leaders willing to stand up against this toxic narrative, regardless of their party affiliation."

"Equating President Trump-who has Jewish children and grandchildren-to Hitler is abhorrent. The use of Nazi Germany imagery in political ads has been condemned by the Anti-Defamation League, and for good reason," continued Proto. "It's time we hold reckless politicians accountable when they spread hatred and poison our political discourse. Actions like these reveal a disturbing disregard for unity and respect; they are not the actions of someone who holds himself out as leader but is, in fact, a feckless coward. But this is par for the course for Bob Duff, who has proven to be lacking in morals and character, who has lied about the Norwalk Police and will say or do anything that serves his political aspirations. Bob Duff represents everything that is wrong with politics, it is all about him, and megalomaniac need for more power."

"Democrats had no problem calling out a Republican when a Democrat was compared to Hitler, but crickets now. Stand up Governor Lamont, Speaker Ritter, Senator Looney, Chair DiNardo and call out this garbage, or are Democrats back to the rules for thee, not for me. As had been said about a previous Senator, can now be said about Senator Duff, 'Have you no decency, Sir?" concluded Proto.
