On December 16, 2024, the Troop B-Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team charged 39-year-old Elizabeth L. Daniels, of Hermon, NY, after New York State Troopers conducted a traffic stop in the town of Gouverneur. During the stop, Daniels was found to have over 16 ounces of methamphetamine, approximately 90 bags of heroin suspected of containing fentanyl, over 22 grams of crack-cocaine, and empty bags for packaging narcotics. As a result, Daniels was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (an A-II Felony) and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (an A-Misdemeanor). Daniels was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and remanded without bail to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility. New York State Police was assisted by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force and U.S. Border Patrol.
