Open Enrollment begins Oct. 28

The annual window for Washington State University employees to make changes to their healthcare plans is fast approaching.

Open Enrollment for the 2025 plan year runs from Oct. 28 through Nov. 25, with any selected changes going into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.

Among the more noticeable changes for next year is a new approach to handling vision care.

Beginning in 2025, vision benefits will be a standalone offering, meaning that WSU employees will need to select one of three available vision plans. Vision benefits will be provided by the university similar to dental coverage and won't have employee premiums.

Other changes going into effect next year include reduced costs for inhalers and auto-injectors, changes to the maximum contributions for flexible spending arrangements and health savings accounts, and updated healthcare plan rates.

Information about Open Enrollment as well as details about upcoming benefits fairs, presentations, and answers to frequently asked questions, are available on Human Resource Services' website. HRS staff are also available to answer questions via email or by calling 509-335-4589.
