Sen. Ossoff Strengthening Opioid Addiction Treatment in Rural Georgia

Baxley, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is strengthening opioid addiction treatment options for families in rural Georgia.

Today, Sen. Ossoff announced he is delivering $2.25 million in Federal funding to rural health centers through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to help those struggling with substance use disorder.

The Federal resources will help improve access to treatment and recovery services, strengthen the behavioral health workforce, and help coordinate social services in rural Georgia.

"Like so many Georgians, I've lost friends to the opioid epidemic. These resources, which I've secured with bipartisan support, will fund efforts to prevent and treat addiction, save lives, and help address the opioid crisis," Sen. Ossoff said.
