VFD Responds to Vehicle Fire

On Friday, August 2, at 12:07 P.M., the Valdosta Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle fire at 102 North Lee Street threatening a structure. The first fire unit arrived within 3 minutes to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the engine compartment. Two individuals were treated and sent to SGMC Health. All occupants of the Customer Service Building were able to safely evacuate prior to the fire department's arrival.
The cause of the fire was a leaking fuel line. The Valdosta Police Department and SGMC Health EMS provided valuable assistance during on-scene operations.
