BPD in the Community: Boston Police Foundation Sends Local Youth Basketball Players to Tournament in New York City

In a heartwarming initiative that underscores community support and youth engagement, the Boston Police, in collaboration with the Boston Police Foundation, facilitated a memorable day for two local youth basketball teams by sending them to compete in a tournament in New York.

Organized by Boston Basketball Legend and beloved youth coach Al McClain, 80 youth - including 2 girls teams and 3 boys teams will represent our city!

This effort is part of an ongoing commitment to foster positive relationships between the police and the community, particularly among the city's youth!

We all met early this morning at Town Field in Dorchester, where members of the Command Staff, officers, coaches, parents, and supporters gathered to cheer on the young athletes.

Dan Linskey from the Boston Police Foundation sent the players and coaches off in style with a motivational speech, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and representing Boston with pride!

Check out this video to get an inside look from this fun filled morning and we wish all of the athletes and coaches luck throughout the tournament!
