Rob is an accomplished leader with decades of experience working in government and utilities. Working at the City of San José, he was the Deputy City Manager with oversight of Transportation, Aviation, and Technology services, as well as the City Council's Planning and Permitting Focus Area. Before that, he was the City's Chief Information Officer. Prior to San José, he held C-level roles leading technology, security, and utilities functions for governments in Arizona, Oregon, and Colorado. He is excited to join the City of Seattle.

"I was drawn to this job because of Mayor Harrell's One Seattle Vision," said Lloyd. "It's a sharp, all-partners approach that is fearless about the problems facing today's cities. I hope to add my experience to that mission." Lloyd added, "While new to Seattle, I've worked with talented Seattle colleagues over the years. I'm excited to be able to work alongside them as a teammate to make Seattle safe, cleaner, and more vibrant in the ways that the Mayor and City Council envision."

Seattle IT partners with City departments to use information and technologies to deliver exceptional services to Seattle residents in responsive ways. In his first message to Seattle IT employees, Lloyd shared, "What's most important is that we work with integrity and a sense of mission as we unleash the brilliance of our City's people. Technology will be at the center of significant organizational and community change in the coming years. We will be positioned to help our partner departments create tremendous opportunities for Seattle families and businesses-including those in the Mayor's One Seattle vision."

Rob and his family are excited to move north to the Pacific Northwest, where they will move close to his wife's parents. Seattle IT teams are also excited to see him settle in, and the department is ready to make progress on the strategy and work ahead.
