FY 24-25 City Budget book now available online

MUSCATINE, Iowa - The Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Budget for the City of Muscatine is now available online for public viewing. The annual budget provides information on anticipated expenditures and revenue sources for each department within the City of Muscatine. The budget book is available for download as a PDF document at FY 24-25 Budget.

The budget book is the culmination of over six months of work by City staff in analyzing the needs of each department, reviewing those needs with the City Administrator and Finance Director, developing a proposed budget, and appearing before the City Council for approval of that budget. The final budget was approved by City Council in April.

The budget for 2024/2025 includes comprehensive goals and objectives for each department and activity in the operating budget. The process of developing a comprehensive management by objectives program for the community is a continual process as the needs of the community change.

As a result, the city must continue to redefine its goals and set objectives as to how they can be achieved in both the short and long term. The evaluation of progress in accomplishing the prior year's objectives is an important part of the budget process between the City Council, City Administrator, and department directors.
