Helping Durham Businesses Grow: Mayor’s Event to Provide Resources for Success

October 19 Attendee Registration Deadline

Business owners in Durham will have the chance to gain valuable tools and resources to help their businesses grow at a special event hosted by City of Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams.

The free event, Durham Leveling Up: Scaling Your Business Through Opportunity and Collaboration, will take place at North Carolina Central University's new School of Business, located at 829 E. Lawson St., on Tuesday, October 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organized by the City of Durham Office of Economic and Workforce Development and its partners, the event aims to support businesses at every stage - from startups to established enterprises. Attendees will have access to a wide range of resources and information to help grow and scale their businesses.

"I am deeply committed to fostering growth and success for all of Durham's diverse businesses, especially our minority and women-owned enterprises," said Mayor Williams. "This event is an important opportunity to ensure these vital businesses have the support they need to thrive in the Bull City."

The event will feature panel discussions, resource and financial institution exhibitors, networking opportunities, and a fireside chat with Mayor Williams; Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman of the U.S. Small Business Administration; and Founder, Chairman, and CEO John Hope Bryant of Operation HOPE, Bryant Group Ventures, and The Promise Homes Company.

"This event is designed to support businesses of all sizes," said Grace Dzidzienyo, assistant director of the City's Office of Economic and Workforce Development. "Whether you're just starting out or have been around for years, we're offering tools and resources that can help you succeed."

The event is free, but registration is required by October 19.
