Floods in Poland

In recent days severe floods have hit Central and Eastern Europe. The southeast of Poland, where Umicore operates two industrial plants, is one of the regions heavily affected.

We are relieved to report that our colleagues and their families are safe.

Both our battery materials site in Nysa, and our automotive catalysts site in Nowa Ruda, have been secured and the effects of the floods are currently limited. Our emergency response teams followed our contingency plans and were able to take the necessary actions to secure operations. A natural disaster of this magnitude also has logistical implications, which we have to take into account for our operations. We continue to monitor the situation closely.

Today and in the coming days, our colleagues living in the area will have the opportunity to mitigate the impact of these floodings in their home environment and support their families and friends. In addition, Umicore will be in close contact with the local communities and lend its support to the local disaster relief organizations to help the people in the affected areas in these difficult circumstances.
