Troopers respond to crash in Cortlandville

On August 23, 2024, at approximately 1:21 p.m. New York State Police, the Cortlandville Fire Department and TLC responded to the intersection of State Route 13 and Lime Hollow Road in the town of Cortlandville for a crash with injuries.

A preliminary investigation at the scene reveals that a Ford F350 with a gooseneck trailer was traveling south on State Route 13 when the operator failed to stop at the red light at the intersection to Lime Hollow Road; a Chevrolet Trail Blazer was north on State Route 13 and attempting to make a left turn onto Lime Hollow Road when the two vehicles collided. The F350 did overturn on to its side as a result of the crash. Approximately four gallons of fuel from the F350 was spilled onto the grass and the DEC was notified. National Grid also responded to the scene.

The driver of the F350, Elvin Muzaffarov, age 27 of Staten Island, NY was checked out on scene by EMS. The driver of the Trail Blazer, Jacqueline S. Carrroll, age 67 of Groton was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center. A passenger of the Trail Blazer, a 62-year-old male from Ithaca, was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
