Champion juggler to give free performance at HSU Nov. 7

The Institute of Jugglology, featuring world champion juggler Galen Harp, is coming to Henderson State University Nov. 7. Harp, who is based in Arkansas, will give a free performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Arkansas Hall Studio Theatre.

Harp uses object manipulation to draw out and explore the relationships humans have with objects. Throughout his performance, Harp will compose, create, and destroy a sand painting. Specially-designed juggling props allow sand to slowly spill out, creating an ethereal environment where every throw becomes an explosion of color.

The Institute of Jugglology has performed and taught across North America, and has opened for Peter Frampton, Blues Traveler, and Cake.

Harp was awarded the Northwest Arkansas Entertainer of the Year award for nine years in a row. He won the world juggling championship in 2014.

His performance at Henderson is open to the public. Arkansas Hall is located at 12th and Henderson streets. For more information, contact Lacy Dunn, Dean of Performing Arts and Social Sciences, at [email protected].
