City of Dallas Hosts Press Conference to Promote National Preparedness Month and Highlights Initiatives and Resources
DALLAS -The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management & Crisis Response (EMCR)proudly hosted a press conference to mark National Preparedness Month, showcasing the city's dedication to emergency readiness and community resilience.
The event, held on Monday September 9, 2024, at Dallas City Hall, gathered local officials, first responders, and community leaders to emphasize the importance of preparedness in protecting Dallas residents.
National Preparedness Month, observed every September, serves as a critical reminder for individuals and communities to take proactive steps to prepare for emergencies. This year's theme, "Start a Conversation," highlights the efforts for helping communities to think about preparedness through planning, education, and collaboration.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT): The City of Dallas EMCR manages a disaster volunteer program called the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT training emphasizes the importance of personal preparedness and accountability by training you, our residents, on how to be prepared for disasters and how to be involved in city response and recovery efforts.
