DCCC Chair Commemorates the Start of Hispanic Heritage Month

Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement honoring the start of Hispanic Heritage Month:

"Hispanic Heritage Month offers us a time to honor and celebrate the diverse communities of Latinos across the U.S. and their significant contributions. From those who have lived here for multiple generations to those who only recently have started to call this country home, Latinos have made immense contributions and sacrifices to help build a stronger America.

"House Democrats know it is important to show respect for these diverse and growing communities by ensuring we are working every day to protect fundamental freedoms so every Latino can achieve their American Dream - a quality education, access to health care, a good-paying job, safety from gun violence, and the ability to retire with dignity. Through historic legislation, like Democrats' Inflation Reduction Act - which created thousands of new clean energy jobs in Latino communities and lowered the price of prescription medication for seniors - House Democrats have shown who is really working with and for Latino communities in Congress.

"House Democrats remain committed to delivering on the key concerns for Latino communities, and will continue working to ensure our economy works for everyone."
