Two Juvenile Females Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Brighton

At about 4:56 PM, on Thursday, July 18, 2024, officers assigned to District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested a 14-year-old juvenile female and a 15-year-old juvenile female on drug trafficking charges.

An officer was on patrol in the area of Malvern Street near Commonwealth Avenue when she observed a motor vehicle parked with both front seats reclined. As the officer drove by, both individuals sat up and the vehicle pulled out and began driving towards Ashford Street.

The officer was able to position her marked cruiser behind the vehicle and conducted an inquiry of the vehicle's registration which revealed that it was stolen. The officer requested assistance from responding officers to conduct a traffic stop.

Officers activated their marked cruisers' emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Brighton Avenue and Harvard Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle, both the operator and front passenger exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the traffic stop.

Officers were able to stop the operator and a brief struggle ensued before officers could handcuff her. As officers were attempting to place the suspect into their cruiser, she kicked the cruiser's door causing damage to the vehicle. The suspect attempted to resist officers and kicked an officer in the stomach before being placed into the cruiser.

The front passenger fled the scene and a foot chase ensued. Officers were able to locate the suspect and place her into handcuffs in the area of 31 Gardner Street.

Officers conducted a search of the motor vehicle and recovered twenty-one plastic bags of cocaine, and ten loose pills of oxycodone. The cocaine was later determined to weigh about 49 grams.

The 14-year-old juvenile female was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Class B Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Vandalize Property, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

The 15-year-old juvenile female was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Class B Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle.

Both juveniles are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
