Hoyer Statement on National Night Out

WHITE PLAINS, MD - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today in recognition of National Night Out, an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie in communities across the country:

"Ensuring that all Marylanders are safe and respected remains one of my top priorities. On National Night Out, local officers and Marylanders engage in a way that brings our community closer together. Maryland's Fifth District is safer when businesses, families, local officials, law enforcement, and neighborhood organizations take the time to know and understand one another. Continuing to promote open dialogue and strong relationships between law enforcement and the Marylanders they serve helps improve community safety and ensure our officers receive the recognition they deserve."
