Fourth Circuit to Host Criminal Appellate Practice Seminar

Save the date! The Fourth Circuit is hosting a Criminal Appellate Practice Seminar on Monday, December 9, 2024. The program will feature a presentation on recent developments with the Sentencing Guidelines by Judge Carlton W. Reeves (S.D. Miss.), Chair of the United States Sentencing Commission. Other session topics will include emerging issues in criminal law, practical skills development in oral and written advocacy, attorney ethics, and a judicial panel featuring Judge Julius N. Richardson and Judge Stephanie D. Thacker. Continuing legal education credit will be sought in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Although the focus is on criminal appellate representation, the seminar will be open to all bar members free of charge, but space will be limited. A program agenda will be shared in the coming weeks, and registration will open on September 9, 2024. If you have questions, please contact [email protected].
