Embankment Stabilization Project to Begin Next Week on Route 187 in Wilmot Township, Bradford County

Montoursville, PA -Motorists are advised that starting next week, a portion of Route 187 will close in Wilmot Township, Bradford County, for an embankment stabilization project.​

Starting on Monday, July 8, 2024, Route 187 will be closed between Coyle Road (T-414) and Grant Hill Road (Route 2003), while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew begins repairs on the embankment failure. Work on the project includes excavation, rock placement, drainage work and pavement restoration to stabilize the embankment and reconstruction of the roadway.

The following detours will be in place for the duration of the project.

  • Northbound traffic will use Route 87, Ambrosius Road (Route 2009), and Route 187 in Hollenback, Bradford County.
  • Southbound traffic will use Ambrosius Road, Route 87, and Route 187 in Lovelton, Wyoming County.

Work on this project is expected to be completed by August 30, 2024, weather permitting.
