National Assembly Delegation Visits China Railway Group in Beijing

China Railway Group is a large corporation, which combines activities in several areas and has offices in 105 countries. It is involved in many infrastructure projects in the country and abroad, such as the high-speed rail project being built to Subotica.

During her visit to the company, the head of the Serbian delegation, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus said that the project to build a high-speed railway to Subotica is much more than an infrastructural connection, pointing out to the company representatives that China Railway Group managed to build a very good relationship with the local community.

She thanked the Chinese company for its commitment to the high-speed railway construction project, adding that Serbia, learning from this experience, is counting on continued cooperation with China Railway Group.

She recalled President Vucic's desire, which he expressed during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia, for China to open a train factory in Serbia, saying that it would be a major investment for Serbia.

China Railway Company Executive Director Wang Shiqi said that the company ranks 39th on the Forbes 500 list, noting that some products, such as tunnel digging machines, are exported to more than 30 countries around the world.

Speaking about the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway, he pointed out that the construction of the section in Serbia has already been completed and added that 60% of the section has been completed on the Hungarian side.

The Serbian parliamentarians had the opportunity to visit the company's exhibition space, where they saw the history and development of railways in China, model trains and "moles" for digging tunnels.

The National Assembly parliamentary delegation is currently in Beijing, where today it took part in the 4th meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress..
