Thankfulness Overflows on Campus with Week of Gratitude Fall 2024

November 11, 2024November 11, 2024

Just as generosity comes naturally to our donors and alumni, gratitude is the heartfelt response of our students. Although our beautiful campus always radiates thankfulness, November holds special significance for Tigers to express their appreciation. This month overflows with gratitude for those who have come before us and for everyone who is working to make our University stronger, providing students with the educational opportunities they enjoy today.

November is especially meaningful as it marks the founding of our beloved University, established through the signing of Thomas Green Clemson's will and his generous bequest of land and resources that created Clemson Agricultural College. In recognition of Thomas Green and Anna Calhoun Clemson's gift and of all who have followed in his footsteps to invest in future generations, we hold the Fort Hill Legacy Society Leaf Dedication Ceremony and Clemson Legacy Society Celebration in November.

Of course, November is a time for reflection and gratitude around the Thanksgiving holiday. This season of thanks aligns with Clemson's annual Week of Gratitude, where we bring together our community in appreciation and reflection.

Throughout the Week of Gratitude, students learn about financial contributions and donations that support their college experience and are given the chance to thank our amazing Tiger network. It's important that you know our Tigers are Grateful!

Clemson's Week of Gratitude events are to take place from November 11-14 at various locations across campus:

  • Monday, November 11 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business
At Clemson University's Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, a branded cookie symbolizes community and collaboration. This sweet treat reflects the innovative spirit in classrooms, made possible by generous donors. Their support enhances programs and resources, empowering students to thrive and shaping future business leaders. Each bite reminds us of the profound impact philanthropy has on education and success.
  • Tuesday, November 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. outside of McAlister Hall
At Clemson, donors have created over 2000 endowments, totaling almost $1 billion. Revenue from private endowments CONNECTS students to scholarships, top-notch faculty and student experiences beyond the traditional classroom.
  • Wednesday, November 13 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Library Bridge
SPEAKING OF PHILANTHROPY, private donations to Clemson Libraries enhance student educational experiences through newly renovated study rooms, Adobe Studio and Makerspace, and resources and collections to help with research and other projects.
  • Thursday, November 14 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Humanities Hall
Humanities Hall is a hub of thriving creativity and intellect thanks to the generosity of donors whose contributions empower student organizations to flourish. Their support transforms dreams into reality, providing resources for events, initiatives and community engagement, ensuring that every student can wear their Clemson pride with passion and purpose.
