Sacramento - Today, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a ten-bill legislative package that seeks to reduce retail theft. Following the bill signing, League of California Cities Executive Director and CEO Carolyn Coleman released the following statement:

"The alarming rise of retail theft is impacting every corner of the state. Cities of all sizes have called for smart and tailored reforms that protect our businesses, create safer communities, and not return our state to the days of mass incarceration. The retail theft bill package signed today is an integral part of this solution, and Cal Cities commends the Legislature and the Governor for their leadership on this issue."

Established in 1898, the League of California Cities is a nonprofit statewide association that advocates for cities with the state and federal governments and provides education and training services to elected and appointed city officials.
