Plan Commission Hearing for Proposed Gas Station Continues October 10

Thank you to residents who participated in the August 22 Plan Commission hearing last evening to listen to the presentation on a proposal for a gas station/convenience store/Dunkin' donuts drive-through at the northwest corner of Butterfield and Batavia roads.

Nearly 60 residents attended and many provided comments that shared their concerns, which include:

• compatibility of the use with the surrounding area
• impacts to pedestrians and cyclists
• the number of variances requested
• roadway access restrictions
• site lighting
• environmental impact considerations
• and more

The case has been continued to the October 10 Plan Commission Meeting. That meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 28W701 Stafford Place.

The applicant indicated several modifications will be made to the plans submitted based on feedback received last night. Updated materials from the petitioner and a staff report will be available on the City's website by Friday, October 4.
