When at the shelter, you can always expect the unexpected. That rings especially true for front office administrative assistant Bethany "Beth" Abraham. Despite the loud barking of 200+ dogs around her, Beth could hear the tiny meows of a kitten pleading for help for help.

After investigating where the sound came from, Bethany discovered an abandoned kitten in one of the shelter's storm drains. A curious Supervisor, Alex Robinson, saw a determined Beth talking into the drain. Interest piqued, Supervisor Robinson made his way over to Beth and began helping to coax the kitten out of the drain with wet food, but were unsuccessful and opted to set a trap. After two hours, the kitten was rescued!

Named DK for "drain kitty", DK was quickly adopted and is enjoying life in her new home!
