Tennesseans impacted by Tropical Storm Helene may be eligible for FEMA assistance to repair or replace a vehicle.
FEMA provides financial help after a disaster for eligible expenses not paid by insurance or other sources. This may include repair or replacement of a vehicle. The damage to your vehicle must have been caused by the disaster and it must no longer be operable or safe to drive. Cosmetic repairs will not be covered. Other requirements include:
The deadline to apply for assistance is Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025.
To find out if you are eligible, you can apply to FEMA in several ways:
Go online to DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA App or call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. If you use a relay service such as Video Relay Service, captioned telephone or other service, you can give FEMA your number for the service. You may also visit a Disaster Recovery Center. You may also qualify for a low-interest disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
